$25.00

The Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad is one of the most spectacular rides in the world. It's the longest narrow gauge steam train route at 64 miles long, and the highest climbing to an elevation of 10,015 feet. You will learn a little bit about the history of the railroad, and see highlights along the route as we travel west from Antonito, Colorado to Chama, New Mexico. Our locomotive is Class K-36 number 489 which was built in 1925, and as an added treat we will ride in the cab and enjoy watching the engineer and fireman at work, plus scenic highlights in this section to Sublette. After taking water at Sublette we ride the coaches and see highlights on this incredible 3 foot gauge railroad that was built in 1880. As we enjoy the soothing sights and sounds of the steam locomotive we will see many remote and scenic locations. There is a wealth of great scenery and enjoyable train riding in this video. 64 minutes of historic mountain railroading.
