The following purchase policies are designed to ensure your satisfaction and understanding of the purchase process on the Mohawk Valley Heritage Railroad website. If you have any questions about the information below, please visit our FAQ and/or submit your questions by viewing our online contact page.

Refund Policy

For the convenience of all of our visitors, all trains depart on time and as scheduled. You are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes before departure. We have no control over your arrival time and will not issue a refund for a missed train. All tickets for train excursions and events purchased through the Museum website are non-refundable, unless we cancel the event.

Transfer Policy

Please check your selected departure date and time before purchasing. Tickets may be transferred to another scheduled train provided there is space available. Please contact the Museum at least 24 hours prior to the ticketed departure date/time. Transfers will not be made less than 24 hours from the departure time/date. Transfers apply only for identical train service. Use our contact page and be sure to include your confirmation number, the ticketed date and time, and what date and time you are interested in traveling. A fee of up to $2.00 per ticket may apply.

Payment Methods

Tickets purchased through the Railroad website may be bought using Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express credit cards. Tickets purchased in person at the ticket window may be bought using cash in addition to the above credit cards.

Order Confirmation

If you do not receive a confirmation number (in the form of a confirmation page) after submitting payment information or if you experience an error message or service interruption after submitting payment information, it is your responsibility to contact the Railroad to ensure that your order has been placed. Only you may be aware of any problems that occur during the purchase process.

E-mail Address

By providing us with your e-mail address, you are giving us permission to contact you with your confirmation e-mail, and reminders about your upcoming trip. We may also send you an occasional e-mail about our future events; you may opt out of these messages at any time. We never sell or distribute your information.

Weather Related Cancellations

Railroads do operate in all kinds of weather. We close only in the event of a significant weather event, i.e. blizzard or hurricane. A cancellation notice may be posted on our Website or Facebook page under those circumstances. Refunds will be given only in the event that trains are canceled. It may be possible to transfer to another excursion, see Transfer Policy, above.

Billing Information Verification

Orders are processed only after a billing address, and other billing information, has been verified. Occasionally, we receive incorrect billing or credit card account information for a ticket order that can delay processing and delivery. In these cases, the Railroad will attempt to contact you, using the information provided at the time of purchase. Please enter your information correctly.
