  • Silver Club Dome Car

Give to the Silver Club Dome Car Renovation Project:

Already in service on the railroad, the Silver Club runs daily on the Duluth Zephyr excursion. The car underwent a massive restoration in the winter of 2017, and was placed in service thereafter. The 85-foot car has 3 complete lounges, 2 working restrooms, the dome seating area, a kitchen, and two sleeper/bedrooms.

When the car was restored, funds completed everything except the kitchen and two bedrooms before we ran out of time and money. Now is the time to complete the car, and we're looking for your support for funds to restore the two private rooms and complete electrical work for the kitchenette.

  • Contribute an extra buck to the Shop Fund

Choose your donation level if you wish to donate:

shopThis railroad is fortunate to have hundreds of dedicated volunteers who keep our historic trains in the best shape possible. Ongoing efforts to restore and repair these trains requires funds to buy parts and complete projects.

A few extra dollars contributed today can have lasting effects for future generations. Please consider a donation to the shop projects.

Inside the Draper Maintenance Facility at the Railroad Museum, there is always a project going on, currently with a repair on a very important GP30 locomotive, a cosmetic restoration for a unique steam locomotive display, as well as safety repairs on the open-air car used on excursions.

  • Power-up the #3617

Choose your donation level if you wish to donate:

Your help is needed to get an historic Northern Pacific SD45 #3617 diesel locomotive up and running and put back in service doing what she was built to do…pull trains. Only seven of these powerful engines are preserved in Museum’s today. Right now only one of them is running. We’re working to change that.

In order to get the locomotive functional, some equipment is needed to make it work.
    Thank you!

The best way to support is by becoming a member, but if you don't want to do that, this is a great place to donate and remain anonymous.

  • Coach 517 Project

Choose your donation level if you wish to donate:

Northern Pacific Coach #517, formerly known as the “Minnesota II,” has been a part of the Railroad Museum for many years. However, after thousands of miles of service on the North Shore Scenic Railroad, carrying thousands of guest/passengers, the inside of the car is in desperate need of rehabilitation.

Your help is needed to make this project possible and assure that we can deliver a coach for our passengers that is comfortable, clean, and SAFE. Renovation of the #517 will preserve the great heritage of quality service the Northern Pacific Railway was famous for.
