Watch Grandmas Marathon in the most unique and comfortable way, onboard the coaches of the North Shore Scenic Railroad.

The train will be at the starting time with enough time to find your favorite runner, and watch the start of the marathon. We will then parallel the race course and keep pace with the lead runners for the first few miles, before we head back to Duluth so you can get to the finish line in time for the first marathoners to cross.

This is an ALL INCLUSIVE FIRST CLASS train: Tickets include a hot breakfast, snacks, dessert, Bloody Marys, and other beverages of choice from a full bar, all inclusive for the entire trip (Gratuity is not included in the price of the ticket). 

The train will consist of a Dining Car (single level) and a Dome-Diner (upper level seating). An additional dome-lounge car will be available for you to wander in and relax for a unique vantage point on the race. Two other adjacent cars with open doors and windows allow for viewing during the ride.

Please note that all First Class seats are generally tables of 4 and couples or individuals will be seated with other passengers. You will be able to select your seats on the next screen. Note that the "Land Side" of the train gets the best views of the Marathon.

Train Schedule:

• 5:45am: Depart Duluth Union Depot, enjoy food and drinks on the way to the starting line.
• 7:30am: Watch the race begin! Follow alongside the elite runners for the first few miles of the race
• 8:30-9:00: Option to de-board for Canal Park to catch the first Finishers of the race.
• 9:00am: Return to Duluth Depot.

Due to the nature of this excursion and limited seating, all passengers must be ticketed, including babies and children. We are sorry but this is not a wheelchair accessible event due to the nature of the historic rail equipment.
