Steam Train Rides

Steam returns to WSRR!  Experience the exciting sights, smells and sounds of steam for three weekends only!   Ride behind a real, coal-fired steam locomotive. Be sure to have your camera ready for some memorable photos.  We'll have two open flat cars behind the steamer, plus several enclosed cars and a caboose available for private reservations. Departures at 11 AM, 1 PM and 3 PM each day.   Note that you may not want to wear your Sunday best because the steam locomotive can shower a little coal dust and water at times.   Daytime excursions are 1 hour and 10 minutes -- rain or shine!

Adult: $25.00; Senior (55+): $24.00; Child (2-12): $23.00

Parlor Car (ages 2+): $50.00

Children under 2 are free and do not require a ticket (must ride with adult).

Private Caboose (includes fares for up to 20 people): $550.00. Children under 2 do not count toward total number of guests.

***Our coaches are handicap accessible. Please let us know in advance if accessible seating is required. Private Cabooses are NOT handicap accessible.***

Ever since Edgar Allan Poe wrote The Murders in the Rue Morgue, mysteries have been a part of our entertainment culture.  From the cases of Sherlock Holmes and Miss Marple to those of Richard Castle and Gil Grissom, everyone loves a good who dunnit?  And deep down, everyone thinks they have what it takes to be the next great sleuth.  On the Walkersville Southern Railroad, guests have that chance!  Join us for an evening of hilarious mayhem as WSRR hosts an interactive mystery event featuring one of Way Off Broadway & Justin M. Kiska's Marquee Mysteries where YOU have to put the clues together to figure out who had the means, the motive, and the opportunity to commit the crime.  Do you have what it takes to solve the case?

In addition to a fun evening of playing detective as the suspects mingle among them, we will provide our guests with a light meal during the evening plus soft beverages. Beer and wine are BYOB (wine glasses available upon request). Please drink responsibly.
