Civil War Reenactors - Steam Train
Union and Confederate reenactors on the train and trackside. There will be the sound of gunfire with ground skirmishes and a mock battle at the park.
Enjoy a four-course meal with gracious service in a grand setting. Board our richly restored 1920s-era dining car at the train station in Walkersville for 6 PM departure, and settle back and relax to fine dining throughout your leisurely two-hour train ride. We will return to the station at approximately 8 PM.
Rides last 1 hour and 10 minutes - Rain or Shine!
Hand on the Throttle
Enjoy the unique "Hand on the Throttle" opportunity inside a coal-fired Steam Locomotive with one of our experienced engineers. You must be 18 years of age or older, posses a valid driver's license, wear closed-toed shoes, long pants and a long-sleeved shirt. We recommend you also wear eye and ear protection, gloves and a hat. Tickets are $125 for 30-minutes. Space is limited, and reservations are required.
Jesse James Day - Steam Train
Jesse and his gang are on the loose! Expect an Old West raid on the train (we'll supply the loot for the robbery). There will be the sound of gunfire!
Mother's Day Dinner Train
Celebrate Mother's Day with a relaxing Dinner Train ride Departing at 6pm and returning at approximately 8pm. Catering provided by The Carriage House Inn, Emmitsburg, MD.
Murder Mystery Dinner Train
Come enjoy an exciting Murder Mystery Dinner produced by professional actors from the Way Off Broadway acting troupe of Frederick, MD, and catered by The Carriage House, Emmitsburg, MD. Approximately 2 hours of interactive fun and delicious dining in our 1920s-era dining car. Train departs at 6pm; seating is limited and reservations are required.
Join us on Opening Day! Vintage engines will be on display all day. Ride the excursion at 11am or 2pm. Enjoy train videos in the museum.
Ride behind the locomotive, plus travel on track north of Walkersville towards Woodsboro, and take advantage of two separate photo run-by opportunities where you can get off the train and get some photos or videos as the train travels slowly past you.
Experience the exciting sights, smells and sounds of steam! Ride behind a real 90-year-old, coal-fired steam locomotive, the restored Jeddo Coal Co. #85 (aka MACK). Be sure to have your camera ready for some memorable photos. We'll have two open flat cars behind the steamer, plus two enclosed cars and a caboose. Be aware that the locomotive can shower coal dust and water on you.
